Biggest water reservoir in Raipur being developed at Kamal Vihar

The biggest water reservoir of Raipur district is being developed in a phase-wise manner on 226 acre land in Sector-3 at Kamal Vihar (Town Development Scheme-04) by Raipur Development Authority.

This information was given during the review meeting of Raipur Development Authority chaired by PWD Minister Rajesh Munat at Mantralaya. The meeting was also attended by RDA Chairman Sanjay Srivastava and other senior officials.
During the meeting a presentation was given by the officials, wherein, it was stated that the water reservoir, also known as Boriyakhurd Reservoir, will be the biggest reservoir in the district and is four times of Telibandha reservoir. The reservoir is being developed on 226 acre land comprising of 138 acre government land and 79 acre private land, for which
necessary formalities have been completed.

The officials informed that in the first phase an amount of Rs 15.24 acre will be spent for construction of road, cycle track and footpath around the reservoir. This will be a great help for people who like walking, cycling, etc in the form of exercises.
In the second phase, an amount of Rs 17.44 crore will be spent in developing facilities like yoga-park, picnic zone, food zone, open-air theater, boating, water sports and open gym, etc.

The objective of development of the reservoir is to maintain water level of the area apart from beautification of Kamal Vihar, enhancing entertainment and recreation facilities which would further promote fast habitation in the area.
