Jungle safari during monsoon closed for tourists from today

Only Melghat Tiger Reserve will remain open for tourism depending on road condition during monsoon

All the tiger reserves, national parks and wildlife sanctuaries in Vidarbha would remain closed from July 1for tourism due to monsoon, except for Melghat Tiger Reserve. The parks will be closed till September 30.

The core and buffer areas of Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve would be closed from Sunday. Similarly, Pench Tiger Reserve, Bor Tiger Reserve, Umrer-Karhandla, Tipeshwar and Painganga Wildlife Sanctuaries would also be closed from Sunday, informed forest officer. Similarly, Navegaon, Nagzira and other sanctuaries under Navegaon-Nagzira Tiger Reserve will also remain closed for tourism.

However, tourist activities would continue in Gugamal, Sipna and Akot Wildlife Divisions under Melghat Tiger Reserve during monsoon on the internal routes, depending on their condition during monsoon, informed G Guruprasad, Deputy Conservator of Forest (Wildlife), Akot.
