A major train accident was averted after huge boulders fell on the tracks following landslide between Bhanwartonk and Khodri Railway stations in the Bilaspur-Katni CIC section on early Monday morning. When the incident took place, the 15232 Gondia-Barauni Express was en-route to its destination, thanks to the Loco Pilot who sensed the danger ahead and applied emergency brakes to stop the train saving many innocent lives. On account of the landslide, entire Bilaspur-Katni CIC section was disrupted for hours together with many trains cancelled, short terminated and detained at other stations. As per information received from Railway sources, the incident was first reported by the Patrolman at about 04: 52 hrs early on Monday morning to the South East Central Railway Bilaspur Divisional Headquarters.
