Nagpur Division LIC OBC Welfare Association celebrated 87th birth anniversary of V P Singh, former Prime Minister and also conducted its annual general meeting. Ramdas Tadas, MP-Wardha was the chief guest and Babanrao Taiwade, President of Rashtriya OBC Mahasangh presided over the function. Speaking on the occasion, Ramdas Tadas shed light on the journey of V P Singh who was instrumental in securing reservation to OBC people thereby ensuring social justice to them. He assured the gathering that all the issues related to OBC employees and students would be taken up by him in the Parliament.

Babanrao Taiwade spoke about he issues related to scholarship to OBC students and stated about the Government’s role to confine the OBC reservation to minimum level of 2 per cent against the constitutional provision of 27 per cent in medical courses is wrong. It should be condemned at every forum. Narendra Shahane, General Secretary of All India Life Insurance Corporation OBC Welfare Assn, Mumbai, had apprised the problems and issues related to OBC scholarship, creamy layer, promotion, etc., to OBC Parliamentary Board in the meeting recently held at Gangtok.
Nandatai Fukat, M C Joshi, Senior Divisional Manager of LIC, Nagpur also expressed their views. The programme was attended by Vijay Desai, Mumbai, Yograj Chotekar, Amravati and Baliram Narale who are strengthening the union of OBC in LIC. Rajendra Hole, President of Nagpur Division LIC OBC Welfare Association, Narendra Dhawale, Secretary, Indrapal Jounjalkar, Vice-President, Rajkumar Fulbande, Mukesh Ajmire, Rakesh Bhugaonkar, Narendra Umale, Bandu Zalke, Sanjay Jambhulkar, Rajesh Khandelwal, and others were present.
