Sambal Yojana has become support of poor: CM

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the Sambal Yojana has become a ‘Sambal’ (support) of the poor. It has taken the form of a public movement. Under this scheme, the Chief Minister Electricity Bill Surcharge Waiver Scheme and Saral Bijli Bill Yojana is proving to be a boon. The Chief Minister said that district-level programmes will be organised for registration of new beneficiaries and distribution of electricity bill waiver certificates in all the districts on July 11. The main programme will be organised in Jaora. Chouhan said that he himself will address beneficiaries of the entire state from Jaora. His address can be heard in all the districts from 3 pm.

Chouhan was holding a discussion with all divisional commissioners and district collectors through video conferencing at his residence. He said that the process of electricity bill waiver and registration will continue even after July 11. He said that all cut transformers will be connected and Prakash Parv will be celebrated one day.
Chouhan told the district collectors and public representatives to organise programmes in the districts on July 11, and solve difficulties that arise during electricity bill waiver and registration process immediately. Chouhan said that after organising district level programme on July 11, the local public representatives can organise electricity bill waiver programmes Vidhan Sabha-wise as per their convenience.

Works related to power infrastructure and construction will be dedicated at all the power sub-stations. He told the collectors to provide supervision to this scheme in their respective districts and ensure its effective implementation so that the poor get maximum benefits of the scheme. MPs, public representatives and Nagar Panchayat representatives should take part and ensure that the poor beneficiaries get the benefits of the scheme. Co-ordination between the district administration and the public representatives in this work is a must. Pre-planning is a must for this. Make adequate arrangements in the rainy season.

Chouhan said that the schemes including Sambal Yojana, Electricity Bill Surcharge Waiver Scheme and Saral Bijli Bill Yojana have been launched to free the poor from unnecessary financial burden. These schemes are to provide support against poverty. No eligible poor family should remain deprived from the benefits of the schemes. Chouhan said that he will constantly review Sambal Yojana and Electricity Bill Waiver Scheme and will talk to at least four district collectors daily. He said that the registration of labourers registered under Bhavan Sannirman Karmakar Kalyan Mandal will be considered acceptable in Sambal Yojana. Praising field staff of power distribution companies he said that the field staff is working very hard.

Revenue Minister Umashankar Gupta, Public Works Minister Rampal Singh, local public representative Principal Secretary Energy I C P Keshari, Principal Secretaries to the Chief Minister Ashok Vernawal and Vivek Agrawal and senior officers were present in the meeting.
