Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company and Chairman of the Power Distribution Companies, Sanjay Kumar Shukla (IAS) has instructed the State’s power distribution companies to solve problems of electricity consumers in the monsoon season and give them top priority. All the three power distribution companies of the State should adopt effective mechanism in their call centres and consumer service centre (FUSE Call Centre) for providing prompt services to consumers. MD of Power Management Company said that the State has surplus electricity availability, but in order to solve the sudden disruption of power supply during the monsoon and to maintain smooth power supply, the State’s power distribution companies should work more efficiently to attend and redress complaints. Sanjay Kumar Shukla instructed the power distribution companies to monitor functioning of call centres and collect data of fuse of calls and restoration of supply for further analysis.


Chairman of Distribution Companies said that in terms of safety in the incidence of water-logging, power transformers and lines should be monitored to avoid any uninterrupted incident and ensuring smooth electricity supply. Shukla directed that the number of technical personnel should be increased for the purpose of redressing the complaints and adequate number of supervisory staff should be deployed. He directed that, as per the requirement, work related to power improvement from authorised contractor on the basis of rate contract. The consumers should be given information of call centres toll free number 1912, so that they can give immediate information to the power engineers regarding the electricity-related complaint. He said that, to ensure the power supply, improvement will be made by increasing the number of vehicles, fuse off call vehicles, hydraulic vehicles and ladder vehicles. Power hacksaw machine is used to cut the trees and twigs in the power line. GPS (Global Positioning System) should be installed in vehicles engaged in electrical improvement, so that their reasonable use is possible.

Instructions for imposing shift duty in the power offices: They also instructed that in the distribution centre and zone offices, shift duty like call centre should be arranged so that the power supply can be made possible. Managing Director of Power Management Company instructed the power distribution companies to apply special dress for the field personnel. For this, jacket personnel with radium will be provided. MD, Sanjay Kumar Shukla told the power distribution companies that they have made effective use of FM channel, Cable TV channels and URJA MITRA mobile application to give information to the consumers of power disruption and smooth supply. He instructed regional electricity engineers from the local district administration, urban administration and the people’s representatives to make better coordination.
