Solar energy, an effective option to save environment: Chouhan

CHIEF Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that solar energy is not energy of future but it has become energy of today. Madhya Pradesh has set an example in the country in production of renewable energy. Chouhan was inaugurating first Government roof top solar energy plant of 200 KW capacity installed on the building of Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) in Bhopal on Tuesday. The plant worth Rs 1.20 crore has started producing electricity.

Chouhan further mentioned that solar energy is the only effective option to save environment. Work to generate solar energy through solar panels has been started in the Government buildings. Cost of solar energy plant is recovered within a period of 3 to 4 years. He stated that first such solar energy plant of the world has been set up at Rewa, which has energy production cost of Rs 2.97 paisa. Moreover, Chouhan said that every citizen must plant a sapling to save environment and protect it. He mentioned that it is just the beginning to save environment and to save life. A plantation campaign is being started from July 15 in the State. Chouhan praised work of Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education of providing furniture in schools and to increase infrastructure. He informed that MPBSE will run 3 more schools. Chouhan lauded the Board for its initiative to bestow awards to 5 schools with best results. He also honoured officers and employees of the Board for excellent work.

Chairman of MPBSE R S Mohanti has informed that owing to efforts of Chief Minister Chouhan, Madhya Pradesh has achieved first position in the country in production of renewable energy. He mentioned that various online services have been provided by the MPBSE to children and the Board has taken initiatives to produce solar energyby deriving benefits from the Government’s policy. Minister for School Education Kunwar Vijay Shah, Minister of State for Renewable Energy Narayan Singh Kushwaha, Minister of State for Technical Education Deepak Joshi, Vice Chairman of MPBSE Bhagirath Kumrawat, Member Bhavsar, Chairman of Urja Vikas Nigam Vijendra Singh Sisodiya, Principal Secretary Renewable Energy Manu Shrivastava, Principal Secretary School Education Deepti Gour Mukherjee and Commissioner Public Instruction Jayshree Kiyawat were present on the occasion.
