CM’s nod to re-constitution of C’garh Tribal Research and Training Institute

The Chhattisgarh Tribal Advisory Council meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh on Sunday proposed for reconstitution of Tribal Research and Training Institute in the form of a society. Also in principle approval was given to the proposal for constitution of State Tribal Culture and Language Academy. The meeting chaired by Chief Minister was held at Mantralaya on Sunday also gave approval of constitution of Secretariat for Chhattisgarh State Tribal Advisory Council, which will run from the office of Chhattisgarh Tribal Research and Training Institute. Since the proposal for re-constitution of Chhattisgarh Tribal Research and Training Institute in the form of society, very soon it will start receiving financial grants directly from Union Ministry for Tribal Affairs directly. Also instead of getting approval for proposed schemes from different levels, the Tribal Research and Training Society will directly approve them.


During the meeting, it was also decided that suggestions regarding constitution of State Tribal Culture and Language Academy will be sought from stake holders within a month’s time. The Council also approved installation of study centres for Rural Engineering, Human Sciences and Tribal Affairs at Bastar University. All these proposals were approved by the Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh during the meeting. The Chief Minister while addressing the august gathering said the Chhattisgarh Tribal Advisory Council has been constituted and for its effective running its Secretariat will be constituted soon, which will fulfill the requirements of tribal communities apart from documentation of all the activities. Members of Cabinet, MPs, MLAs and nominated Members will play a significant role through this secretariat toward solving problems and requirements of the tribal communities in preserving their language, culture, traditions, conservation of theirtraditional equipment and musical instruments, etc.

 

One nodal officer will be appointed in this Secretariat. The Chief Minister issued necessary directives to Chief Secretary and departmental Secretary for fast establishment of Secretariat. The CM further informed that Shahid Veer Narayan Singh Tribal Museum will be established upon 22 acres land at a cost of Rs 27 crore in Naya Raipur near Purkhot Mukhtangan. The CM urged all MPs from Chhattisgarh to collectively take up the issue of spelling rectification of names of several Tribes so that a Bill is introduced in this direction. If this is done, after the passage of the Bill and its notification, the Kisan Nageshia Tribe members can be issued caste certificates. The meeting was attended by Chhattisgarh Tribal Advisory Council Vice Chairman Kedar Kashyap, Home Minister Ramsewak Paikra, Forest Minister Mahesh Gagda, MLAs Suniti Satyanand Rathia, Goverdhan Manjhi, Shrawan Markam, Chintamani Maharaj, Tejkunwar Goverdhan Netam, Khelsai Singh, Pahari Korwa Development Agency Ambikapur President Munnibai, Abujhmad Development Agency Narainpur President Mangturam Nureti, Chief Secretary Ajay Singh, ACS C K Khetan, DGP A N Upadhyay, Principal Secretary (Finance) Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary Aman Kumar Singh, Special Secretary (Tribal) Reena Baba Sahab Kangale and other senior officials.
