A team of State Cyber Police Zone, Jabalpur, arrested a member of racket involved in duping youngsters in the name of providing employment through a website, on Sunday. The accused has been identified as Vishal Soni (34), son of Virendra Kumar Soni, a resident of Gwalior.
The accused, along with two other men and two girls, was working at a Delhi-based call centre of a website, www.naukri.com since the year 2015. The racket was involved in luring youngsters for providing them employment in reputed private firms and duped a large number of youngsters.


State Cyber Police Jabalpur, Inspector, Hariom Dixit informed that a girl Nisha Kapur (changed name), a resident of Maharajpur lodged a written complaint that she made a profile on a website named www.naukri.com for a job in the year 2013. During the year 2016, an unidentified man posing as representative of naukri.com called her and assured her for providing job in HDFC Bank. For this the miscreant took cash of Rs 27,000 for her registration, bond, agreement and other documents.Acting on the complaint, State Cyber Police Zone Jabalpur registered a case under sections 419, 420, 120B of the IPC and section 66D of IT Act.


Investigating the case, Cyber Police team identified the accused as Vishal Soni, son of Virendra Kumar Soni of Vadodara in Gujarat on the basis of his mobile numbers and bank account number. A team conducted search and learnt that the accused prepared fake documents of Vadodara. In further investigation, Cyber Police found information that the accused is resident of Gwalior who was absconding after the incident. Superintendent of Police, Cyber Cell had also declared cash reward of Rs 2,000 for giving any information or apprehending the accused. Continuing a rigorous search, Cyber Police team succeeded in apprehending the accused from Gwalior.


In prima facie of the investigation, Cyber Police learnt that Vishal Soni was working along with two men and two girls for targeting youngsters from a call centre in Delhi and already duped a large number of persons in the name of providing them employment. Inspector, Hariom Dixit informed that the names of four other accused could not be disclosed as precautionary measure and assured that Cyber Police will soon apprehend the accused.The accused was apprehended with active working of police team led by Inspector, Hariom Dixit comprised of Sub Inspector, Roshni Narre, Constables, Vikas Kumar, Alok Choubey, Vimal Kumar, Head Constables, Pawan Sharma, Sanjay Singh, Subhash Arya and others.
