GST will give boost to manufacturing: Dharmadhikari

RUNNING any manufacturing unit and becoming an industrialist has always been a noble profession as they are always contributing towards the social cause. “Now after implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST) and demonetisation, operating a business has become even better. This is one of the best times to be an industrialist,” said A P Dharmadhikari, Joint Director of Industries, Nagpur while talking at a workshop titled ‘Never a better time to be an industrialist’ organised by Economy & Finance Forum of Vidarbha Industries Association (VIA) recently.


“GST, demonetisation and various other schemes introduced by the Government have given a boost to the economy and has brought out new and larger opportunities to industrialists which should encourage others to get into manufacturing in a big way,” A P Dharmadhikari said.
Furthermore, renowned industrialist of Vidarbha region and experts gave presentations at the workshop. Prashant Mohota, former Vice-President of VIA and Managing Director of Gimatex Industries, Hinganghat said, “The Indian economy is one of the fastest growing economies in the world with an annual GDP growth projected to be more than 7.5 per cent. India is estimated to be one of the top 3 economies in the world with a $5 trillion economy by 2025 and $10 trillion economy by 2030. A large young population, easy availability of labour and low yielding alternate investment avenues has made manufacturing the best option for investment”.


He discussed various schemes of central and state Governments for manufacturing industry.Mohota said various alternatives of investments give low returns like saving schemes, bank fixed deposits, gold, real estate etc. He covered most of the policies which exist for the benefit of setting up of industries and running them smoothly. CA Yash Bhojwani and Shivkumar Rao, Director of R&Y Logistics gave presentations and shared details of schemes in textiles, food and agriculture and logistics.Atul Pande, President of VIA said people should turn to industry and set up their units. VIA would extend its help when required. Pande welcomed Prashant Mohota and Suresh Rathi, Vice President of VIA welcomed Ashok Dharamadhikari with floral bouquet. CA Naresh Jakhotia, Jt Secretary of VIA conducted the proceedings and proposed the vote of thanks.


Prominently present were Pravin Tapadia, Past President of VIA, Ashit Sinha, Former Vice President of VIA, Faiz Wahid, Pratik Tapadia, Vishal Agrawal, Rajay Surana and
industrialists in large numbers attended the programme.
