Students from all over country reach IIIT-NR to take part in Outreach Programme

The summer of 2018 at International Institute of Information Technology Naya Raipur (IIIT-NR) witnessed a different colour and culture with its outreach programme. This programme invited students from all over India to spend two months, carrying out research programme under the supervision of IIIT-NR faculty members. This year, it has attracted hundreds of applications f0rom institutions all over India. 32 selected students are currently doing their summer internship. Some of them are from the State of CG while others are from reputable institutions like IIT-Dhanbad, NIT-Bhopal, NIT-Durgapur, IIIT-Bhuwaneshwar and IIIT Kerala etc.

Students from state of Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Odisha, Karnataka, Rajasthan, West Bangal and Tamil Nadu are represented. IIIT-NR is proud to host, guide and provide them exposure to research through its high quality laboratories and libraries facilities in addition to financial support. The purpose of the summer internship is to enable undergraduate students carry out independent research. Students also get opportunity to attend special lectures, workshops and social activities which makes their stay a rewarding experience. Director IIIT-NR, Dr P K Sinha addressed the summer internships in a welcome session and inspired them to make the best use of the opportunities the Institute provides. He expressed hope that this outreach programme will help institutions in CG and elsewhere in India in availing greater exposure to latest technology research and understanding unique culture of IIIT-NR. Dr Venkanna U is the coordinator of this outreach internship programme.
