Chief Minister releases various reports on Vidarbha’s devpt

Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister, released various reports including those aimed at development of Vidarbha region. These included a report on issues concerning citrus production and management in Vidarbha, simplification of procedure for diversion of Zudpi Jungle land for developmental projects, fisheries development in the region etc.


Addressing the senior officers present on the occasion, Fadnavis said that the report on fisheries development in Vidarbha would provide a boost to overall prosperity of fishermen in Vidarbha region. Besides, the recommendations in it would double the farmers’ income. Referring to the report on simplification of procedure for diversion of Zudpi Jungle land for developmental projects, he said that the stand of Centre and State was complementary to each other. For, he said, it was necessary for the State to simplify the procedure considering that Central Government had taken several positive decisions regarding making available Zudpi Jungle land for developmental projects.


The report on issues concerning citrus production and management in Vidarbha has been prepared by Central Citrus Research Institute through Vidarbha Development Board. This report also was released at the hands of the Chief Minister.


On the occasion, some reports were submitted to the Chief Minister. These included action plan for fisheries development in Vidarbha prepared by Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University (MAFSU) and Vidarbha Development Board, report prepared by Indian Institute of Management-Nagpur on fisheries, enquiry report on disbursement of loan without mortgage by micro finance companies in Maharashtra, financial and non-financial incentives to State Government staffers serving in Naxal-affected areas, etc.


Manu Kumar Srivastav, Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue); Pravin Pardeshi, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister; Vikas Kharge, Secretary (Forest); Anoop Kumar, Divisional Commissioner (Nagpur); Ravindra Thakre, Additional Commissioner; District Collectors namely Ashwin Mudgal (Nagpur), Shantanu Goyal (Bhandara), A S R Nayak, Commissioner (EGS); Deputy Commissioners namely Sudhakar Telang, Bakul Ghate, K N K Rao, Sanjai Dhiware, and other officers were present on the occasion.
