CHHAONI police arrested one and confiscated a country made pistol and two live cartridges from his possession in Power House, Bhilai on Wednesday morning. The police registered the offence and are further investigating the matter.
Police sources informed that the accused was identified as Chandan Dinbandhu alias Kashi alias Chandrakant, a resident of Bairagi Mohalla, Power House, Bhilai. The police said that in her complaint the victim woman Rakhi Tandi, a resident of the same locality alleged that at about 5 am on Wednesday, the accused Chandan Dinbandh reached her house and threatened her with life and also ransacked the two motorbikes parked before the house. The police said that as per the victim woman Rakhi Tandi, the crime was outcome of old enmity and on complaint the police registered the offence under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code while initiating investigation in the matter.


Police sources further informed that while investigating the matter Chhaoni police team succeeded in laying hands on the accused Chandan Dinbandhu and during searching his clothes the police recovered a country made pistol and two live cartridges from his possession. The accused Chandan Dinbandhu was booked on charges of illegal possession of arms and the police registered another criminal case against him under sections 25 and 27 of Arms Act for illegal possession of arms and threatening persons with firearms.
Suresh Uke, Station House Officer, Chhaoni Police Station informed that since the accused was held with recovery of firearms from his possession the police have registered another criminal case against him. The police have already
initiated further investigation in the matter.
