Traffic violations may lead to cancellation of licence

Diving licence of vehicle driver in case of road accident if found guilty, will be cancelled and permit of vehicle if found overloaded will be seized, was decided during the meeting of Road Safety Council. The meeting was chaired by Transportation Minister Rajesh Munat at Chhattisgarh Assembly meeting hall on Wednesday. During meeting it was stressed that in order to control the cases of road accidents and for traffic awareness special drive will be launched. Special attention will be paid towards fitness of vehicles and if found over loaded strict action will be taken. It was directed that in case of road accidents licence of driver if found guilty will be cancelled. It was directed that regular meeting of newly formed District Road Safety Committee should take place on regular interval.


Munat further stressed that department officials should ensure that the directives are strictly followed. Special attention should be paid towards fitness of vehicle. Speed breakers to be constructed on the approach roads to avoid accidents. Identification of black spots, installation of road signals, removal of encroachments from foot path and parking areas. Helmet should be made compulsory for the two wheeler riders and other directives were given. Director General of Police AN Upadhyay, Additional Inspector General of Police RK Vij and Arun Dev Gautam, Additional Transport Commissioner OP Pal and officials of departments were present during the meeting.
