Lt Gen Ravendra Pal Singh assumes command of Sudharshan Chakra Corps

LIEUTENANT General Ravendra Pal Singh, AVSM, VSM took over command of the Sudarshan Chakra Corps from Lieutenant General Iqroop Singh Ghuman, AVSM as the 23rd General Officer Commanding of the Sudarshan Chakra Corps on Thursday.Lieutenant General Ravendra Pal Singh, AVSM, VSM was commissioned in the Mechanised Infantry Regiment in June 1982. He is alumnus of National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. He has attended mandatory courses of the Indian Army, important ones being the Defence Services Staff College, Higher Command, and National Defence College Courses. He commanded Mechanised Infantry Battalion in the deserts, Independent Armoured Brigade in Punjab Sector and an Infantry Division as part of a Strike formation on the Western Front. General tenanted a number of important command, staff and instructional appointments in Army Headquarters, Western Command, Army War College and School of Armoured Warfare.

On the eve of taking over the Sudarshan Chakra Corps Lieutenant General Ravendra Pal Singh, AVSM, VSM reaffirmed his commitment of keeping high level of operational preparedness of the corps at all times through focused training and meaningful human resource development. He is a recipient of the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal and Vishisht Seva Medal for exemplary services.
