‘Adharwad’ portrays the life and work of late Dattaji, his qualities, his dedication and selfless service to humanity. This book could be a complete guide for youths to build their personalities and build nation, the RSS Chief added.


Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is not working for strengthening the organisation, but is working on man making phenomenon. Late Dattaji Didolkar was the best example of this rule. He was a Swayamsevak in true sense and set ideals in front of the society throughout his life, said RSS Sarsanghachalak, Dr Mohan Bhagwat.


Dr Bhagwat was addressing as a chief guest after releasing a book ‘Adharwad’ based on the life of late Dattaji Didolkar, founder member of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). Adharwad penned by Arun Karmarkar and published by Lakhe Prakashan was released at the hands of Dr Bhagwat at Dr Vasantrao Deshpande Hall on Saturday. Union Minister for Road Transport Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Nitin Gadkari was the guest of honour, while National Organising secretary of ABVP Sunil Ambekar also shared dais.


Stating that late Dattaji was ‘Adharwad’ for all volunteers, workers and even common people in society, Dr Bhagwat recalled his long association with Dattaji. A Swayamsevak always work with a dream to protect, develop and sacrifice for the nation.


Dattaji always followed the values of true Swayamsevak.
He was a man of compassion, true love for others, and had a strong bond of relationship with all persons in society. ‘Adharwad’ has portrayed the life and work of late Dattaji, his qualities, his dedication and selfless service to humanity. This book could be a complete guide for youths to build their personalities and build nation, he added.
Nitin Gadkari termed late Dattaji Didolkar as a role model for many youths in the country. He was a rare blend of clarity of thoughts, strong conviction, dedication and helped all persons came in his life. Though he was involved in university politics, he was very fair to all and had no enemies in life. Dattaji’s sanskars have been an inspiration for many Swayam-sevaks even today, he added.


Sunil Ambekar stated Dattaji was a torch bearer of patriotism. ABVP a student movement has crossed all boundaries of all states and became a national level movement. The credit of its growth goes to late Dattaji, he added. Ambekar also took a brief review of 70 years journey of ABVP.


Prof Chandrakant Ragit made introductory remarks. Vikramjeet Kalani proposed a vote of thanks.
