State to fill up over 18,000 vacancies of teachers this year, says Vinod Tawde

State Education Minister Vinod Tawde on Friday announced launching of Pavitra Portal that would prevent corruption and irregularities in the recruitment of teachers in Government, aided and partially aided schools. Around 18,000 teachers will be recruited through the system this year, informed Tawde.

Addressing a press conference at Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office in Vidhan Bhavan campus, Tawde claimed that the system would ensure transparency in the recruitment process. Those who had given Maharashtra Teacher Aptitude and Intelligence Test (TAIT) can register themselves in the ‘Portal for Visible To All Teacher Recruitment-Pavitra’ by visiting link - www.edustaff.maharashtra.gov.in/pavitra. Applicants can register themselves by using seat number of TAIT examination as their user id, he informed.

State government had issued a GR on June 20 this year about Pavitra Portal which stated that all the recruitment of teachers would be done by the portal. Applicants will have to feed their details, including education qualification in batches. Tawde said that the department has divided the qualified applicants in batches, each batch consisting 15,000 candidates. They will get three-days for registration.

He also added that the vacancies would be filled as per the reservation norms. For any inquiry or problem for registration, the applicants can approach Education Officers (Primary and Secondary) of their taluka.

A press release issued by Tawde informed that the schools would have to post details of their staff requirement including number of vacancies between on October 1, 2018 and January 1, 2019 on education department’s portal and also in newspapers. Candidates can apply in 20 schools of their choice. Merit list of selected candidates will be released in fourth phase, the press release stated.
