Accused who abducted, raped woman for 15 days on the run

Dial 100 police rescued victim from clutches of accused, who is still absconding


A 24-YEAR-OLD woman has filed a rape complaint with Chola Mandir police against a man who had abducted her and outraged her modesty after being held captive for over 15 days in Bhanpur area. The complainant is a resident of Ginnori in Talaiya locality and had come across the accused Rehan Khan (30). Soon they became friends and he lied to her that he is single.


Later, on developing friendship on pretext of outing on his bike, the accused took her to several spots asking her that he wished her to meet one of his relatives but there he locked the woman up and kept raping her. The survivor could not recall all the places where she was help captive but she informed police that on June 26 he took her to Bhanpur. He raped her and locked her for the entire period. He then told the girl that he would marry her after which she kept mum. On Saturday she found the accused missing after which she asked neighbours to call police.


Team Dial 100 then reached the area and rescued the girl and then brought her to police station. Chola Mandir SHO Ravikant Daheriya said that the accused is a resident of Kammu Ka Bagh in Aishbagh area and is on the run while he has been booked under Sections 342 344 and 506 and 376 of the IPC. Police said the accused works at railway station but even his wife in unaware of his profession.
