Staff Reporter,

After a long gap, former Deputy Chief Minister and senior leader of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Chhagan Bhujbal is back in action. As soon as he arrived in Nagpur on Sunday to participate in Monsoon Session of State Legislature, he fired a salvo at the State Government and said that he would raise ‘various issues’ on the floor of the House.

Talking to mediapersons after his arrival at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport here, Bhujbal referred to the deal involving CIDCO land in Navi Mumbai and wondered, “If all is well and nothing wrong took place, why has Chief Minister ordered probe into the matter?”. Bhujbal, who is being projected as ‘Bahujan’ leader, was wearing a ‘Phule Pagdi’. “Chief Minister should have responded to the issues concerning land deal raised by the Opposition. However, he first refuted the allegations of irregularities.

Later, he ordered judicial probe and stayed the said land deal. Probably this has happenned as Devendra Fadnavis has to wear multiple caps including that of Chief Minister, Home Minister, Urban Development Minister etc,” Bhujbal remarked.
Bhujbal, who was in jail for over two years, is out on bail. Bombay High Court granted him bail in May. He was arrested by Enforcement Directorate on charges of his alleged involvement in what is popularly known as ‘Maharashtra Sadan scam’. Recently, he made his public appearance in a programme in Pune. Now, all eyes will be on him during Monsoon Session of State Legislature. “There are too many issues to corner the Government, but there is restriction of time. Still, during the session, I shall raise various issues,” he added.

Taking a dig at the Government over waterlogging in various parts of Nagpur city including Vidhan Bhavan premises a few days ago, Bhujbal said in a lighter vein, “Did the Government obtain permission of Speaker of Legislative Assembly and Chairman of Legislative Council before implementing ‘Jalyukta Shivar Abhiyan’ in Vidhan Bhavan?”  Referring to a recent statement by Sambhaji Bhide, he said that ‘Manusmriti’ must be condemned.
