CM hails Adivasi Samaj’s progress in education

Lauding the collective efforts of Adivasi community persons, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh said that community members have shown remarkable elevation in the field of education, conservation of forests and uplifting their communal activities in state. Chief Minister Singh expressed these views during World Adivasi Day Function organized at Balbir Singh Juneja Indoor Stadium here.


Speaking to mammoth gathering at indoor stadium , Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh said that adivasi community persons have brought laurels to state by clearing competitive exams like IIT, NIT, PMT, PET, sports and qualifying in others professionals courses. He called on the community persons to show their dedication towards development of state as state government is spending 35 per cent of its budget on development works in adivasi areas.


Elaborating on beneficiaries’ schemes launched by the state government, Dr Raman Sigh said that his government has always given priority for the community development with focus on their better education. Citing example, Chief Minister said that Dantewada has become education of adivasi students and soon the children will be seen becoming IAS, IPS officers and on other government posts.


Meanwhile, Tribal Welfare Minister Kedar Kashyap highlighted various state government beneficiaries’ schemes. His said that past four year of the ruling government has issued 4.5 lakh forest rights certificates to adivasi community people.


During the programme 51 adivasi community children were felicitated for their outstanding performance in various field including sports. Present during the occasion were Home Minister Ramsevak Paikara, Forest Minister Mahesh Gagada, State SC/ST Commission President G R Rana, Bastar Development Authority Vice- Chairman Bhojraj Nag and other senior officials.
