“God of Bhavgeet and a musician who was part of the immortal classic Geet Ramayan, was a highly disciplined, dedicated and principled Swayamsevak, Gaan Tapasvi, who did not get dithered by circumstances and persued music as his ultimate goal,” observed Sar-Karyawah of Rashtriya Swyamsevak Sangh (RSS), Bhaiyaji Joshi, while giving his address at the programme organised to release two special editions on commencement of the birth centenary year of vocalist Sudhir Phadke and the 92 foundation day celebrations of Tarun Bharat.

Seated on the dais were Chief Editor, Tarun Bharat, Gajanan Nimdev, Managing Director Dhananjay Bapat, film director Raj Dutt, Bhaiyyaji Joshi, Dr Vilas Dangre,Singer Sridhar Phadke and Anil Dandekar.

The programme was organised under the aegis of Narkesari Prakashan Limited. Bhaiyaji Joshi released the special editions of ‘Toch Chandrama Nabhat’ dedicated to late Sudhir Phadke and the special edition of Tarun Bharat on its 92nd foundation day celebrations. The special edition on Sudhir Phadke has articles written by Asha Bhosle, Padmaja Fenani, Devki Pandit and other stalwarts.

Speaking on the occasion film director Raj Dutt, while paying glowing tributes to Sudhir Phadke, said that his ‘Sur’ will never fall silent. “Babuji’s world revolved around Sangh, Samaj and Bharat”, which he revered.
He was a staunch bhakt of Swatantryaveer Sawarkar and wanted to spread his patriotism amongst the new generation. Dutt also paid glowing tributes to Sudhir Phadke’s wife who was an accomplished singer, but accepted her place in the family and became a housewife to support Babuji till the end.

Singer and music composer Sridhar Phadke expressed his happiness and thanked people of Vidarbha who, he said, had provided maximum elevation to the greatness that Geet Ramayan has achieved”.

Earlier, the programme commenced with a video clip on the life of Sudhir Phadke. All the dignitaries on the dais were welcomed with a bouquet.This was followed by rendition of songs of Sudhir Phadke by Amar Kulkarni and Manjiri Vaidya-Iyer. Both vocalists did a wonderful job in bringing alive the romance and pleasure of Sudhir Phadke’s songs.Music was arranged by Mahendra Dhole who provided accompaniment on keybord, Ashok Tokalwar on tabla and Subhash Wankhede on octopad. The programme was conducted by Renuka Deshkar .

Amar Kulkarni’s last song titled ‘Chahiye Aashish Madhav Namra Guruvar Prarthana’ drew a huge applause of appreciation and a standing ovation from Sridhar Phadke. Gajanan Nimdev proposed the vote of thanks.
