Even after the massive drive launched by administration against dengue epidemic the death toll in Steel City seems to be uncontrollable as in a fresh case a 27-year-old woman lost her life on Sunday night thereby reaching the dengue toll in city to 14. Earlier the woman was undergoing treatment at JLN Hospital, Sector-9 Bhilai but as her condition deteriorated she was admitted in ICU of Ramakrishna Care Hospital, Raipur where she died on Sunday night at around 9.30 pm.

The deceased Rajni Sonani (27) a resident of Bapu Nagar, Ward-29 daughter of Sukaru Sonani complained of headache and fever on August 8 and was admitted to Sector-9 Hospital where she was undergoing treatment for four days. Her condition deteriorated and on Saturday she was shifted to ICU of Ramakrishna Hospital where she died on Sunday night.
As per reports dengue is also spreading arms in peripheral areas of the steel city as four positive cases of dengue has been reported from Durg and 11 cases has been reported from Bilai-3 Charoda. District Collector Umesh Agrawal has instructed to empty the swimming pools in clubs and informed that dengue test will be conducted in Rs 700 at 14 laboratories in the city.
