‘Industries should come forward to develop Gadchiroli, Washim distts’

Sudhir Mungantiwar, Maharashtra Minister for Finance called upon industries associations to come forward help the State Government in developing industrially backward districts of Washim and Gadchiroli. Mungantiwar was interacting with the executive committee members of Federation of Industries Association Vidarbha (FIAV) recently at Hotel Pride.


At outset, Kiran Paturkar, President of FIAV and CA Milind Kanade, Secretary FIAV accorded warm welcome to Mungantiwar.Kiran Paturkar briefed the gathering about meeting with Maharashtra Minister for Industries Subhash Desai at Amravati wherein discussion was held on Industrial Policy and Package Scheme of Incentives. The meeting at Nagpur with Industries Minister Subhash Desai was attended by Secretary Milind Kanade who submitted the memorandum made on behalf of all the FIAV members after detailed discussion.

of FIAV from Chandrapur underscored the need to set up foundry units and demanded subsidy in electrical charges as Chandrapur district bears the brunt of pollution due to number of power generation plants. Nitin Lonkar, EC Member FIAV demanded Development Commissioner Office at Nagpur and special Electronic Park at MIDC, Butibori. Chander Khosla, Vice-President of FIAV sought changes in Solar Policy changes.


Pradip Khandelwal, Vice-President of FIAV brought to the notice about the anomalies in the PSI after amendment.
C G Shegaonkar, Executive Committee Member said, “Plots are not available in MIDC, Hingna for expansion of industries.” Virendra Laddha, EC Member of FIAV from Amravati brought to notice the steep rise in stamping charges under Weight & Measurements Act. Dr Madhusudan Goenka EC Member FIAV from Wardha stressed the need for appropriate sanctioning authority for industrial plots outside MIDC area and demanded removal of reverse charge mechanism (RCM) on cotton related products.


Mohan Taori, EC Member FIAV from Khamgaon said, Government should immediately make industrial plots available at Khamgaon. Ashok Agrawal, Joint Secy of FIAV from Gondia informed about difficulties being faced by rice mills. Raghunath Kaparthi, V-P of FIAV from Yavatmal made presentation on PSI. CA Milind Kanade solicited for setting up of mother unit in Nagpur and Chandrapur to feed number of ancillary units. Kanade conducted proceeding and also proposed the
vote of thanks.
