Only Congress can challenge BJP: Nath

Madhya Pradesh Congress President Kamal Nath said that there is possibility that State may go for Assembly elections in November end. Hence, he is giving more focus to strengthen the organisation of the party from last four months. “If anyone can challenge the BJP then it is only the Congress,” said Kamal Nath.


Addressing a press conference at party office in State capital, Kamal Nath said that as far as alliance issue is concerned then three days back, he had gone to Delhi for discussion with BSP. Common goal is to defeat BJP. He also took the name of SP, Gondwana Party while talking about alliance. Moreover, he told that Congress is paying attention on those 80 seats which it has not won from long time and their
candidates are likely to be decided in September. More than this, Congress is also doing independent survey to know that what people actually want. The survey report is likely to be received by party on September 3 or 4. Along with this, Congress is also doing economic survey of State. Making a blistering attack on BJP government, he said that Government should reduce VAT on petrol and diesel. He promised that on coming to power, Congress will reduce rates of petrol and diesel by Rs 5 and Rs 3 per litre respectively. Talking about law and order situation of Madhya Pradesh, he told that State is number one in crime against women. He alleged that Madhya Pradesh has become sanctuary of criminals. He assured that if Congress comes to power then women security women would be ensured. He also demanded that state government should return the fees of students who appeared in various exams held by Vyapam from 2008 till 2018. “Otherwise Congress will do so after coming to power,” he told. He further added that party has decided to call manifesto of party as ‘Vachan Patra’.

It has covered every section of society. Criticising CM’s Jan Ashirwad Yatra, he told that only BJP is the party which has made no complaint regarding the voters’ list. “Today Chief Election Commissioner and Election Commission team was in Bhopal and we apprised them about the issues related to voters’ list. Commission assured of action in this regard,” he said. He also alleged that scam has taken place in distribution of footwears to tribals doing work of plucking tendu leaf.
