Todya nullah under several feet of water after incessant rains

The area is witnessing heavy rainfall since Sunday and now almost all the local monsoon nullahs and rivers are overflowing.

Due to continuous rainfall, Todya nullah on Lalbarra road and nullan on Sinkandra-Thanegaon road was flooded. All the culverts and bridges sitiated on nullahs and rivers are submerged due to flood. Water upto 2-3 feet was seen over the bridge situated on the Todya nullah and hence traffic was stopped by police on Lalburra road. However no police deployment was made on the thanegoan bridge and hence people continue risking their live by crossing the flooded nullah. Due to heavy rainfall, kachcha house of Mohd Imran Qureshi at ward no 13 collapsed and all domestic articles were buried in the debris, however family members ran out before house collapsed.

Due to heavy and continuous rainfall, weekly markets of the area were not held and people remained marooned to their villages as connectivity to main roads was snapped due to flooded culverts and bridges.

The water of the flooded nullahs gushed inside the houses sitiauted nearby and villagers were confined to their houses trying to pump out the water from their houses.
The bridge on Todhya nullah was submerged in the flood and hence passenger buses to Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Lalburra, Seoni could not ply and hence passengers faced many problems.

The passengers who booked tickest for buses to Bhopal-Indore had to cancel their journey as buses could not reach Waraseoni . then passengers had to go to Balaghat to catch buses This spell of rainfall did infused some hope among farmers of revival of their crops. The area did not witnessed good rainfall this season and hence most of the ponds, nullahs were not filled. But after this spell of rainfall, water level in most of the local ponds, rivers have risen and hence locals are elated.
