BSP members demand use of ballot papers

Demanding use of ballot papers in the forthcoming assembly polls in Chhattisgarh, members of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) led by State President O P Bajpai stage demonstration at Ambedkar Chowk here.


The members alleged that use of EVM machine is not authentic and people of state specially the rural voters are not aware about the functioning of machine.According to Bajpai, in Chhattisgarh many voters specially in rural areas are not aware about functioning of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM). He alleged that in last assembly elections held in 2013, use of EVM gave advantage to ruling government because voters were not aware about the functioning of machine. Bajpai informed that use of EVM has been ban in 132 countries including Germany and America.


Meanwhile, BSP has constituted five members team which will be meeting Indian Election Commission Senior Deputy Election Commissioner Umesh Sinha on his arrival on
September 8 and will urged him for the use ballot papers during the assembly elections.
