Inter-state gang of thieves busted, 10 men arrested

In a major breakthrough, Omti police busted an inter-state gang of thieves and arrested 10 members, including three women involved in dozens of theft incidents in different districts. Police have recovered Rs 35,000, 25 mobile handsets, gold and silver jewellery, five wrist watches worth Rs 3 lakh. Arrested ones have been identified as Bal Murgan (32), son of Narayan Ramayya of district Nandurbar in Maharashtra, Babu Tuddinikar (33), son of Ganesh of Trichnapalli in Tamil Nadu, A. Mugam (31), son of Mutthu Naidu of Nandurbar district in Maharashtra, Prabhu (27), son of Balkrishna, of Thiruvarambur district in Tamil Nadu, Krishna Tuttinaikar (31), son of Kariyappa of Tamil Nadu, Kartik Naidu (19), son of Babu Naidu of Nandubar district in Maharashtra, Kiran (19), son of Muttu Tuttinaikar of Tamil Nadu, Parvati Naidu (50), wife of Narayan Naidu, Selvi Naidu (40), Balu Naidu and Laxmii Naidu (60), wife of Ramkishan Naidu of Nandubar in Maharashtra. Superintendent of Police Amit Singh disclosed this while addressing a press conference, on Thursday.

SP Singh added that on July 29, 2018, a man named Anil Lalvani (47), son of Chetram Lalvani, resident of Rampur in Gorakhpur filed a complaint that he was standing near his car (MP-20CC-5766) on Model Road, Dawa Bazar, Napier Town and a bag was placed in his car carrying Rs 1,75,000 cash. An unidentified person took away the bag of cash from his car. Police have registered a case under Section 379 of the IPC and started investigations. Taking a serious note into the incident, SP Amit Singh constituted a team under supervision of Additional SP, Rajesh Kumar Tripathi and CSP, Omti, S K Shukla. Continuing the campaign, police team led by SHO of Omti police station Neeraj Verma received information about finding a group of suspected people behind Dr Barat Bungalow.

A police team conducted surprise inspection and succeeded in detaining group of 10 persons, including three women.

Police have recovered a large number of sharp-edged weapons and equipment used for theft. In their search, police team recovered Rs 35,000, gold and silver jewellery, 25 mobile handsets and other goods worth Rs 3 lakh.

Gang of thieves was busted with active efforts of police team led by SHO, Omti, Neeraj Verma comprising Crime Branch’s Head Constable, Dhananjay Singh, Vijay Shukla Constables, Anand Tiwari, Bramhprakash, Rahul Sengar, Birbal, Mohit Upadhyay and Omti’s SI, Rakesh Singh Baghel, Hridaynarayan Pandey, Javed and Pankaj Shole.
