Three held, stolen booty worth Rs 5 lakh recovered

Gorakhpur police have nabbed three accused and retrieved stolen valuables amounting to Rs 5 lakh from them. Accused were involved in several theft incidents reported in Gorakhpur, Lordganj, Madhotal and Omti areas.

The accused have been identified as Amber alias Mangal Ahirwar (20), son of Dalchand Ahirwar, resident of Chikni Kuan in Garha, Akash Ahirwar (19), son of Rakesh Ahirwar, resident of Supatal in Garha, Bhura alias Ismile Khan (19), son of Nasir Khan, resident of Mandwa Basti in Gorakhpur.
Superintendent of Police, Amit Singh disclosed this while addressing a press conference, on Thursday.

SP, Singh informed that pointing out increasing graph of theft incidents, Additional SP (South), Dr. Sanjeev Uikay and Additional SP (Crime), Shivesh Singh Baghel were directed to start a special campaign to put-up check on theft incidents and apprehending the thieves.

During the campaign, police received information about three suspected men who were trying to sell out gold and silver jewellery on less cost. Acting promptly on the information, a combine team of Crime Branch and Gorakhpur police under the supervision of CSP, Gorakhpur, Arjun Uikay led by SHO, Sandeep Uikay started search. Continuing a search, police team succeeded in apprehending the accused. In their interrogation, the accused broke out and confessed several theft incidents. On their identification, police have retrieved stolen commodities including jewellery,

electronic equipments etc amounting to Rs 5 lakh. The accused were apprehended with active working of police team led by SHO, Gorakhpur, Sandeep Ayachi comprised of Crime Branch’s Head Constable, Dhananjay Singh, Vijay Shukla, Constables, Anant Tiwari, Bramnprakash, Rahul Sengar, Birbal, Mohit Upadhyay and Gorakhpur’s SI, Hemant Yadav and Head Constable, Deenanath Dubey.
