Water takes over Lalbarra after three days of incessant rains

Three days of incessant rainfall has created havoc in ther area. Life has come to standstill in many villages of Lalbarra block due to flooding of the rivers and nullahs. The maximum impact of adverse weather was witness in Chandantola village of Atrai village panchayat where more than three dozen houses were damaged and four houses collapsed. In the low lying area, water logging was witnessed. However due to alertness of local administration, no loss of life was causes. In last 28 hours, 225 rainfall was recorded at Lalburra.

The nullah flowing between Ganeshtola-Katangtola was flooded after heavy rainfall and its water confluence at Ghisrei river and hence its water enter Chanantola and houses were flooded. Due to which houses were damaged and collapsed.
On learning about the damage, District Panchayat member Jhamsingh Nageshwar, Sarpanch Hukumchand Pancheshwar, CEO Gayatri Kumar Sarthi, SHO Vijay Vishwakarma, ASI Kamalsram Uikey, Patwari Shivlal Adme, rushed to the village and saw the destruction due to rainfall.

Local resident Nawab Rangrez informed that flood like situation arise after heavy rainfall. His house collapsed and 12 goats, 14 hens, 53 bags of fertilizers, motor pump, and other domestic articles were completely damaged. He suffered loss of more then Rs 2 lakh and hence demanded authorities to cover up his loss by giving compensation.

Jham Singh Nageshwar informed that he has informed administration about the natural calamity. Panchayat has made arrangements for shelter and food of the affected villages. The flood affected villagers would get compensation under RB6/4.

Further, Katangtola nullah was overflowing and hence traffic on the culverts on this nullahs, was stopped for more then two houses. When water level receded then police allowed vehicular movement.
