Weather remains cloudy, sporadic places to get rains

Weather conditions remained cloudy across Madhya Pradesh on Thursday. Bhopal too witnessed thick cloud cover but there was no rains. Isolated places of State recorded light to moderate rainfall in last twenty four hours. Weather Department forecasted that rains are likely to drench sundry parts of State, but there would be no heavy rains.


Weather Department told that rains and thunder activities are likely in many places of Gwalior, Bhopal, Rewa, Sagar, Shahdol, Hoshangabad divisions and districts like Balaghat, Seoni and Katni. Isolated places of remaining regions may also get drenched by rains. As far as Bhopal is concerned then it will have cloudy sky and has possibility of light showers.


In last twenty four hours, rains occurred in sundry regions of State. Indore recorded rainfall of 6 cm, Chhattarpur and Rajnagar (5 cm each), Nagodh and Hanumana (4 cm each), Umaria, Ishagarh, Dindori (3 cm each), Naugaon, Katni, Nainpur, Depalpur (2 cm each) respectively.
As far as Bhopal is concerned then thick cloud cover prevailed in city but there was no significant rainfall. However, a spell of moderate rains have lashed Bhopal city on Wednesday night.


On Thursday, spells of light showers lashed many places. Indore recorded rainfall of 59.4 mm, Tikamgarh 14 mm, Umaria 28.4 mm, Damoh 10 mm, Naugaon 16 mm etc.
Weather department said that as of now there is no major active system in Madhya Pradesh. But there is good moisture incursion and due to this reason, isolated places may get rainfall activities.


Meanwhile, a system is developing in Chhattisgarh and it is likely to give rains to Madhya Pradesh after two days.
Till then light to moderate rains may happen in different parts of State. A new system is also under development phase in Bay of Bengal.
