The Emergence of 5G is great news. It will improve our lifestyle and almost by 2020 around 20.8 billion devices will be connected to internet. It empowers a host from smart appliances to autonomous vehicles and quick downloads of movies and games.

In the early 1990s, first generation ‘1G’ emerged with analog cellular and expands to 2G with sending text messages between two cellular devices. Later on 3G was introduced, which gave people the ability to make phone calls, send text messages, and browse the internet. 4G enhanced many of the capabilities that were made possible with the third generation of wireless. People could browse the web, send text messages, and make phone calls and they could even download and upload large video files without any issues.

5G will build on the foundation created by 4G LTE. It’s going to allow people send texts, make calls, and browse the web as always and it will dramatically increase the speed at which data is transferred across the network.5G will make it easier for people to download and upload Ultra HD and 3D video. It will also make room for the thousands of internet-connected devices entering our everyday world.

Like all the previous generations, 5G will be significantly faster than its predecessor 4G. This should allow for higher productivity across all capable devices with a theoretical download speed of 10,000 Mbps.

A challenge with higher frequency signals is that they don’t travel as far as lower frequencies, so multiple input and output antennas (MIMOs) will need to be used to boost and multiply signals anywhere 5G is offered. As 5G is still in development, it is not yet open for use by anyone. However, lots of companies have started creating 5G products and field testing them.
