One more dengue death

A 24-year-old girl Megha Sahu daughter of Jairam Sahu a BSP employee deputed in CSS Department, suffering from dengue succumbed during treatment on Friday at JLN Hospital, Sector-9 Bhilai.


Her father informed that Megha had high fever on Monday and she was taken to hospital where after checkup and blood test she was returned home. In the evening she was confirmed of dengue positive. After that he insisted the doctors to admit her as she is already a sickling patient and here immune system is weak. On which the doctors informed that her platelets is 1,10,000 and so take her home and if she has fever give her paracetamol tablet.


Bring her on Tuesday we will again test her blood. On Tuesday when he reached hospital with her the doctors asked him to come on Wednesday.


Her father further informed that on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday at around 2.00 pm she had pain and anyhow at around 4.00 am they reached Sector-9 Hospital. After investigation the doctors admitted her in B-1 Ward. On Thursday at around 10.00 am the doctors came in round and informed that she needs an injection and asked his brother to refer her to Raipur. But her brother Nagesh insisted them to shift her in ICU. But the doctors refused saying that there is not bed vacant. On which Nagesh contacted CMHO and after that the doctors informed that one bed is vacated in ICU and they shifted her to ICU. Where she was kept for four hours and during this time while counseling they were informed that we are trying our best to save her. But later they declared her dead.
