The Ministers are also likely to discuss how to thwart the Congress attack and prepare strategy accordingly.

The Chhattisgarh government is all set to provide land lease of 1 lakh odd families residing in urban areas in the state. It is being stated that all district Collectors have been instructed to dispose all such lease deeds latest by September 30. Also, the state government has decided to renew the lease deeds of families who are residing on such lease lands since earlier against old lease. Accordingly, the state government will bring an Ordinance in this direction. The Ordinance - Lease Renewal (Amendment) Ordinance is likely to get approval from the Cabinet on Monday.

It may be recalled that a high level meeting in this direction was held at the residence of Revenue Minister Prem Prakash Pandey on Thursday which was attended by Urban Administration Minister Amar Agrawal, Agriculture Minister Brijmohan Agrawal, Chief Secretary Ajay Singh as well as other senior officials. The meeting also discussed the difficulties being faced by old lease holders. It came to fore that the lease were distributed in 1984 and since then they were not renewed. Hence it was decided that those families who are still residing upon those lease lands, their lease would be renewed and for this law would be amended. Hence after Cabinet approval the ordinance will be introduced in the House during the Special Session for its approval.

The meeting had also discussed that such people who‘re residing on these lease lands, they are paying power bills and other municipal charges, hence it was decided that those poor families should be approved pucca houses under Prime Minister Urban Housing Scheme. The Cabinet may discuss this issue as well and give approval for the same.
