Cops nab prime accused in kitply co manager’s murder case from Kolkata

In course of action, being planned by Raipur police to nab the absconding offenders, a murder accused Abhilekh Singh alias Chotu alias Abhilesh, 34, has been caught by the police and brought from Kolkata in connection with the murder of kitply company manager Ajay Kumar, who was shot at in the premises of his office at Samta Colony.

The incident is dated back to December 29, 2016 and the Azad Chowk police registered a case of criminal conspiracy and murder. Deceased Ajay Kumar was project manager in Kolkata-based kitply company and his office was located in Samta colony.

On December 29, 2016, two persons visited to him in his office and had a business talk in the afternoon and later they again came and called Ajay Kumar outside the door. As he was at the allied stairs, the two persons shot him.
The complainant in the case is S Surya Prakash, who resided in Samta Colony and was in ply trading business. Surya Prakash maintained that he used to visit Ajay Kumar’s office daily and was present inside the office when Kumar on the call of the two persons went out. On hearing the gun shot, he rushed out and found that victim Kumar was lying in a pool of blood.

While being rushed to hospital, the victim told with a great difficulty that he was shot with a gun by one Akhilesh Singh and his accomplice and that the victim had their mobile phone number saved in the name as Bihar in his mobile phone. The two persons had met the victim a few days ago at a hotel in Raipur. Ajay Kumar was shot over a business dispute, the complainant maintained.

The victim died and in course of earlier investigations, police had arrested two other accused Syed Mohd. Imran, 25 and Sarfaraz Khan,27, residents of Jharkhand. Accused Sarfaraz had confessed during interrogation that accused Abhilekh Singh contacted him and asked to kill a person in Raipur and offered lakhs of rupees. Sarfaraz had further confessed that he sent two persons Ajay Singh and Imran to Raipur and that Abhilekh Singh and Ajay Singh were known to each other.

The accused Ajay Singh and Abhilekh Singh have been absconding since the murder. Raipur police failed in its earlier attempts to catch the accused as they went on changing their addresses and names. On gaining key information this time about the accused Abhilekh Singh, team of crime branch personnel and Azad Chowk police went to Kolkata where the local police cooperated.

In course of raiding the possible hideouts, accused Abhilekh Singh was caught with a pistol. Kolkata Police registered a case against him under Arms Act and Raipur Police brought him after compliance with legal formalities. The accused during interrogation gave valuable information and now more arrests are possible, informed Raipur police, adding the accused Singh was working as contractor in Kolkata.
