Normalcy returns as all 5 gates of Bango dam closed

ALL the five gates of Bango dam have now been closed with resumption of normalcy. Earlier, 9000 cusec water was being released per second from the dam. The water storage of dam is constant at 358.88 metres.

With the lowering of water level in the dam, the affected villagers, who had been stationed at the relief camps, have started returning to their houses.

After heavy rains for over a fortnight, situation at dams is reported to be under control. The clouds on Sunday did not come down as rain. With the decrease in water flow, all the five gates of Bango dam were closed on Sunday.

It is worth mentioning here that the gates were opened up to six metres on Saturday to release 37000 cusec water.
On Sunday, the gates were opened up to 1.5 metres to release 9000 cusec water. The gates at Darri dam were opened on Sunday to release 46000 cusec water. However, the gates were closed on Monday evening. 

The news of decreased water level and lower chances of flood has come as a relief to the residents of Bango locality. They had been stationed at camps to prevent any loss of lives from flood. However, they started returning to their homes after the gates were closed. Assistant Engineer of Bango dam, DP Dubey said that all the gates of Bango dam have been closed and 9000 cusec water is being released for power plant.
