‘Make arrangements for eco-friendly immersion’

Deputy Mayor Pardikar, Standing Panel Chief Virendra Kukreja visit Futala, Sonegaon and Ambazari lakes

Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) will celebrate eco-friendly Ganesh Utsav in association with devotees. The civic body is promoting citizens to come forward for eco-friendly immersion of Lord Ganesh by immersing the idols in artificial tanks. Deputy Mayor Deepraj Pardikar and Standing Committee Chairman Virendra Kukreja visited Futala, Ambazari and Sonegaon Lakes to inspect preparation of immersion of Lord Ganesh. They directed administration to complete the work of artificial tanks and deploy staff for the smooth immersion of idols.


Ganesh festival will begin from September 13. Pardikar and Kukreja directed to put barricades near lakes and also install high mast lights for proper illumination on the ground. The nirmalya kalash should be installed at several places and continuously make announcements to help devotees.


Kukreja said, civic body should make proper arrangements for the immersioni of house hold idols of Lord Ganesh at Futala. The swimmers, boats and firemen should be ready to handle any untoward incident. The vehicles should not park near the lakes and make arrangements of parking away from the lake. The boards of parking should be displayed near lake, he added.


Pardikar said, the idols will be immersed every day so maintain cleanliness near the lakes. Deputy Mayor and Standing Panel chief urged devotees to immerse the idols in artificial tanks situated in their areas. This will reduce traffic congestion on roads. The idols more than 5 fts should immerse near the artificial tanks at lakes.
