‘Pola’ celebrated with traditional zeal, rituals at Waraseoni

Like every year, ‘Pola’ festival was celebrated with enthusiasm. On this day, farmers take leave from their farming work, decorate their bullocks and then offer prayers to them as their farming work depends on bullocks.


As per the tradition, the main rituals was offered by Choudhary family residing at ward no 13, then other families did the rituals. On the occasion MLA Dr Yogendra Nirmal, District Congress Committee President Pradeep Jaiswal, Municipality President Vivek Patle, BJP OBC Morcha State member Niranjan Bisen, Prime Minister Jankalyan cell State member Pushpa Bisen, Vikram Deshmukh, corporator Vikky Ade and others were present. Family members of Choudhary family came to Jai Stambh chowk in form of procession. At Jai Stambh chowk, farmers were standing along with decorate pair of bullocks. Prayers were offered to the bullocks.


MLA Dr Nirmal, former MLA Pradeep Jaiswal, Janpad Panchayat Former President Pushpa Niranjan Bisen and other dignitaries put vermilion mark on the bullocks and presented many gifts personally to all the farmers. A race of bullocks was also organised and large number of bullocks ran in the race. At the venue, a fair was organised and general public were seen enjoying. Thereafter, farmers brought their pair of bullocks to homes of their near, dear ones where family offered prayers to bullocks and presented gifts to owners.
