Bhilaians to get glimpses of famous monuments during ‘Ganesha Utsav’n Staff Reporter

Bhilai, which is considered as mini-India is known for celebrating every festivals with great enthusiasm and when it comes to Ganesha Utsav, the city shows more passion and enthusiasm. From the last few years, Bhilaians are getting opportunity to witness glimpses of some famous monuments, castles and temples as impressive pandals during Ganesha Utsav. Likewise every year this year too, the organisers of Ganesha Utsav Samitis’ are trying their best to erect replica of famous monuments, castles and temples as pandals for
Lord Ganesha.


The festival this year starts on September 13 and the immersion of the Idol of Lord Ganesha will be held on September 23. Organizers of Ganesha Festival from different places of steel city are making eye-catching and unusual pandals for attracting the denizens while few are making caves, well-known temples and famous monument shaped Pandals. This year, around 1,000 small and huge pandals have been erected at different places in the city.


The magnificent pandal being erected as the replica of “Mahismati Mahal from the famous bollywood movie ‘Bahubali’at Sector-2, Bhilai will be centre of attraction for devotees while the replication of proposed Ram Mandir of Ayodhya by Nava Yuva Mitra Mandel Ganesha Utsav Samiti at New Khursipar will facilitate the Bhilaians with glances of Ram Darbar, Ram-setu and Lanka Dahan along with more than 200 mobile tableaus, depicting the tale from each stages of Ramayana.


Shriniwas Rao, president of Azad Ganesh Utsav Samiti, Sector-2 informed that the entire purpose of having a big celebration of Ganesh Utsav is not only traditional or religious. “We are trying to introduce to the devotees different monuments and world famous structures. From last 34 year we are celebrating this occasion, we have erected pandals similar to other famous places too.” he added.
