Vice-President of State Congress Committee, Badruddin Qureshi and President of Durg District Rural Congress, Tulsi Sahu on Tuesday have jointly handed over a memorandum to Collector Durg, Umesh Agrawal to press the demand for removal of Mahatma Gandhi’s photographs and the sketches of his specs being used as logos at Sulabh toilets and other garbage strewn dirty places, where people habitually urinate. Qureshi insisted for the immediate removal of sketches of Gandhi’s specs and his photographs from Sulabh toilets of 12500 trains, traversing from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, and being used for urinating or defecating by more than 30 lakh passengers every day.

Qureshi has informed that the Public Interest Litigation (WP PIL No117 of 2016) dated 8/12/2016 was filed by him. “Considering my appeal, the learned judges have directed the Chief Minister and Central Government for initiating immediate measures in this context, and to inform the judiciary regarding their implementation.
