Soon after taking over as the Chairman of Maharashtra State Handlooms Corporation Limited (MSHCL), Prakash Nakul Patil on Tuesday said that he would put in efforts to provide regular jobs to weavers. Patil also said that overall development of the city corporation would be among 

his priorities. Patil took the charge at a function held here in the city based office of the MSHCL. Patil further said that he would focus on effective marketing on cloths produced by the corporation. “I have decided to concentrate on advertising of the corporation’s products so that it would reach out to a large number people. It will also generate demand for the product and eventually benefit the weavers,” he said.


He also assured the gathering about bringing transparency in functioning of the corporation as early as possible and marketing the products in places like Sindhu-Durg, Raigad and Ratnagiri of the State.


As of now, Patil is District Head of Shiv Sena, Thane. He had also been the leader of the opposition in Thane, Zilla Parishad for 8 years. Before taking the charge on Tuesday, Patil first visited Diksha Bhumi and then paid floral tribute to the statue of Maratha warriour King Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj located near Gandhi Gate at Mahal.


He was accorded a grand welcome at the office of MSHCL. Dr Madhavi Khode-Chaware, Director, Textiles, Government of Maharashtra and Managing Director of MSHCL, felicitated Patil with shawl, shreefal and floral bouquet. Vijay Nimje, Deputy Managing Director of MSHCL also welcomed Patil with floral bouquet.
