Additional warehousing facility at ICD, Nagpur

A new warehouse admeasuring 8,000 square feet has been constructed at ICD, Nagpur. It will facilitate customers for cargo storage, palletized cargo, refractory materials, cotton etc., can be stored and loaded from this facility. The inauguration of the facility was done by Anup Kumar Satpathy, Chief General Manager of Central Region/CONCOR, Nagpur and Pinky Baskey, Assistant Commissioner of Customs/ICD, Nagpur, in the presence of other customer officers and trade members. This facility is in addition to the earlier two warehouses admeasuring 20,000 square feet each. With this additional facility the total warehousing space at ICD, Nagpur is now 48,000 square feet.

Trade members operating through ICD, Nagpur will benefit with this additional facility to store and move their export and import cargo as per their requirement. The Central region was set up with the commissioning of the ICD at Nagpur in January 1997. Located at the center of the country, Nagpur is the natural logistics hub for the Indian sub-continent for movement of international and domestic cargo.

The region was created to focus on tapping the market potential of the vast hinterland of Central India, and the efforts have been proved successful by the dramatic growth in business. CONCOR’s ICD at Nagpur is linked by rail to the east-west and north-south trunk rail routes making it possible to run trains from and to all parts of India. It is also well connected by the Ring Road to NH 6 (Mumbai to Kolkatta) and NH 7 (Varanasi to Kanyakumari).
