JMC conducting special awareness drive to make Jabalpur No 1 in cleanliness

Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC) is carrying out special cleanliness awareness drive to make Jabalpur a top city in cleanliness. The drive has been orgnaised on ward-level apart from schools and colleges.

Under the series of programmes, a grand rally was taken out from Rampur square to Jogini Mata Mandir via Patel Nagar, on Thursday. During the rally, school children urged people to dispose dry and wet garbage separately in separate bins fixed by the JMC at every nook and corner of the city. They also appealed people to handover domestic waste to employees who come to their doorstep.

Over 500 school children participated in the rally. Students of Johnson Girls' Higher Secondary School participated in the rally in large number. During the rally the students created awareness regarding door-to-door garbage collection, ban on plastic carry bags and also urged people to keep the city clean and beautiful.

Speaking on the occasion, Corporator, Shankarshah ward, Thaneshwar Mahawar hailed the efforts of the Municipal Corporation in creating public awareness regarding cleanliness. He said the civic body is organising a number of such programmes under the guidance of Mayor, Dr Swati Godbole. He said the efforts would surely bear fruits and Jabalpur would become a cleanest city of the country.

Amongst those also take part in the rally were Assistant Commissioner, G S Nagesh, Deputy Commissioner, Rakesh Ayachi, Health Officer, G S Chandel, Divisional Officer, Sudeep Patel, Assistant Health Officer, K K Dubey, Anil
Bari, Health Inspector Agaste and others.
