‘Youth empowerment must for nation-building’

“Youth empowerment is the need of the hour for political and social development of the country and every individual should contribute for nation build-up,” said Ajay Deshpande, Chairman, Laxminarayan Institute of Technology Alumni Association (LITAA) during the inauguration of two-day Model United Nations conference held at Gurunanak Bhavan, Ambazari Road on Saturday.


In the process of youth empowerment every individual is encouraged to take charge of their lives and express their thoughts more accurately for their own development and for the nation too, Deshpande told while addressing the gathering.


Praising the efforts of the organising team, Deshpande said that Model United Nations conference is a best way to encourage youth empowerment which will provide a platform to students to express their views.
He encouraged all participants of the event to debate and discuss on national and international issues during this conference to share their knowledge with others and also to gain more information about the world wide agendas.


In the beginning, the event commenced with lighting of traditional lamp at the hands of the chief guest. Dr R B Mankar, Director, LIT presided over the event who also explained about the LIT’s working and the contribution of LITAA for working of the institution.
Dr Vijay B Pawade, teacher co-ordinator also shared the dais during the event. He explained the objective of the event and urged all students to participate in the event whole-heartedly.


The Issue of Use of Chemical Weapons in Syria; Preventing The Weaponisation of Space; Role of Civil Society, NGOs and Private Sector in Tackling Infectious Diseases; Discussing Human Rights Violation in Balochistan and other national topics were discussed during the conference.


More than 340 students from different colleges of Gwalior, Jaipur and Mumbai participated in this two-day event. Best participants will get prizes after the event. There is three cash prizes one for best delegate and two for high commendations. Every participant will also get memento and certificate during the concluding programme.
Ashish Joshi, Director General of the conference gave the introductory remarks, while Nidhi Mulkutkar, Secretary General proposed a vote of thanks.
