Collector, SP inspect Assembly polls arrangements

Collector Chhavi Bhardwaj and Superintendent of Police (SP) Amit Singh jointly inspected the preparations for conducting Assembly Elections at rural areas of Jabalpur district. Both the officers conducted investigation about preparation of photo electoral rolls and also reviewed the law and order situation at different areas.


The Collector Chhavi Bhardwaj also sought information about work done for adding or deleting the names in photo electoral rolls from Booth Level Officers at Higher Secondary Schools. The photo electoral rolls of all the five BLOs were observed. The Collector sought information about any kind of dispute or history of amount distribution. However, the villagers denied it. One of the villager made complaint about deleting his name in the list.

However, after checking the voter's list Collector replied that his name was not deleted from the list. Collector and SP also sought information adding or deleting the names of voters in Bhaironghat Panchayat, Mankedi and Kusali. She also warned that name of any eligible voter should not be missing in the list. She also sought information about adding the name of just married women voters came in village. On getting information about 41 Divyang voters, she also instructed to install the ramp according to the parameters for them, at the polling centers. She said that the ramps should be constructed in full length so that Divyang voters would not face any kind of inconvenience in coming to polling centers. During the observation, District Election Officer, also instructed to ensure making all the arrangements at the polling centers.


The Collector and SP sought information about occurrence of any kind of untoward incidence during previous elections and law and order situation from officers concerned. The SP also asked the officers to maintain law and order situation in concerned areas.


The wine shop were sealed due to irregularities and two officers were suspended. Both the officers also inspected the wine shops of Shahpura and Bhitoni and sought information about permit of godown and liquor shop bar. Despite, no permit to the foreign liquor shop bar, foreign liquor shop bars were being run.


The Collector got those liquor shop bar opened and investigated the wine stock and selling of liquor. The Collector also instructed to seal entire campus and to cancel the license to the liquor shop. The action is being taken to suspend the Assistant  District Narcotics Officer and sub inspector. Considering the case of running hostle in the premises and serving the wine  seriously, SP instructed to get the First Information Report (FIR) lodged against the concerned people. The SDM PK Sengupta and Tahseldar Anup Shrivastava were also present on the occasion.
