First project under Mukhyamantri Saur Urja Krushi Vahini Yojana successful

The project generates 900 kilowatt of power

Successful test of first project in Nagpur District under Mukhyamantri Saur Urja Krushi Vahini Yojana, with project generation of 900 kilowatt of power, was carried out. Located at Khapa in Saoner tehsil, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has already entered into power purchase agreement with ESSL.

The land for the project was provided by MSEDCL, it is spread over three acres, while the solar panels were installed by ESSL. Work on panel installation started from May 19 and within four months period the project has been completed. Maharashtra Energy Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule oversaw the execution of the project. He is also the Guardian Minister of Nagpur District.

About 350 to 400 farmers would be provided power through the Khapa solar project and it would formally inaugurated soon. The aim behind the solar project is to ensure that farmers get power for 10 to 12 hours at stretch. Two more solar projects, one of 900 kilowatts at Butibori and other of 500 Kilowatt at Kuhi too are being established.

Recently, solar projects in Ralegaon Siddhi in Ahmednagar and Kolambi in Yavatmal districts to underwent testing and they were successful. These two projects were established under the aegis of Maharashtra Power Generation Company (MahaGenco). While the one at Khapa is third to start radiating power and is baby of Mahavitaran. During the testing, Dilip Ghugal, Chief Engineer, Nagpur Circle, Narayan Amzare, Superintending Engineer,  Bandu Wasnik, SE, Testing Division, D N Sali, Executive Engineer, were present.
