EPF Staff Union launches agitation

In order to resolve the long-pending legitimate issue of promotions, recruitment, financial upgradation and filling Group B, C and D cadres while extending benefits consequent upon implementation of cadre restructuring report, the Employees Provident Fund Staff Union, Maharashtra (Registered) has launched state-wide agitation from September 26 which will continue upto September 28.
The agitation has been launched under the guidance of MP Anil Desai, President and Rakesh Acharya, Secretary-In-General, Maharashtra.

The first phase of the agitation was launched on Wednesday with lunch hour demonstration staged by Nagpur Unit under the leadership of Vijay Thakre, Secretary and Bharti Mandhalkar, Vice-President.  Vijay Thakre in a press release said, staff had always being deprived of their legitimate rights and demands by the EPFO management.

The benefits of cadre restructuring were assured and approved by Minister of Labour and Chairman of Central Board of Trustees w.e.f December 9, 2015 in its 210th meeting.

However, due to the adamant attitude of the management it was passed w.e.f December 27, 2016 that too partially without yielding monetary benefits to any of the staff who are the actual workforce of the department.
