Massive corruption was alleged in the construction of toilets.
The villagers of Dharamjaigarh Nagar Panchayat alleged the officials of Nagar Panchayat of misappropriation fund sanctioned for construction of toilets. Despite protest of villagers against Nagar Panchayat officials, the administration is paying no heed towards their complaint.

According to information, it has been four years for Swachh Bharat Mission started in village. The mission was launched to ensure open defecation-free country but the objective of the scheme seems to have failed due to negligence of government officials.

The villagers alleged that the Nagar Panchayat officials misappropriated the fund sanctioned for construction of toilets and used poor quality of raw materials. As a result, the toilets are collapsing and in several toilets, the septic tanks sank as it could not bear the pressure. The septic tank broke down after a buffalo stepped over it.

Villager Gomati Bai said that the toilets are of no use because the walls have developed cracks and the seats are breaking. She further added that the toilets are of no use as people are compelled to go out in the open for nature’s call. The Congress Councillor of Ward No 12 Yogesh Agrawal demanded strict action against officials of Nagar Panchayat and contractor who carried out low quality work.
He further added that the government should take the matter seriously as the local people have been bluffed by the officials and contractor.
