The special CBI court on Thursday granted bail to State Congress President Bhupesh Baghel in connection with a ‘sex CD’ case on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh.
Speaking to The Hitavada, defence lawyer Faizal Rizvi said that the CBI court granted bail to Baghel. The state Congress chief Baghel cannot go outside of India without court’s permission, he added.

It may be noted that on September 24, the CBI court had sent Bhupesh Baghel in judicial remand for 14 days in connection with a ‘sex CD’ case after he declined to engage a lawyer or apply for bail following filing of a charge-sheet.
Earlier, Durg MP Tamradhwaj Sahu, Congress Legislative Party (CLP) leader T S Singhdeo, Satyanarayan Sharma, Rajesh Tiwari, Girish Dewangan and other party leaders met Bhupesh Baghel at Raipur Central Jail. These leaders informed Baghel about the decision of All India Congress Committee (AICC) to apply for bail. Baghel accepted the decision of AICC and he was agreed to apply for bail in the case.

State Congress President Bhupesh Baghel came out of the Raipur Central Jail on Thursday evening after he was granted bail by the CBI court.
Baghel accompanied by State Congress In-charge P L Punia, CLP leader T S Singhdeo and other leaders reached Rajiv Bhawan. Congress leaders and workers in large number reached the Central Jail to welcome their leader Baghel.

Later Baghel addressed the party leaders at Rajiv Bhawan. The State Congress President levelled various allegations against the State government. Baghel claimed that he was falsely being implicated in the fake sex CD case.
