A DAY after Bhopal District Court asked Shyamla Hills police to file FIR against senior Congress leaders and Vyapam scam whistleblower, FIRs were lodged against former MP Chief Minister Digvijay Singh, Congress State President Kamal Nath, Member of Parliament Jyotiraditya Scindia and whistleblower Prashant Pandey on Thursday. Additional Superintendent of Police, Zone-3, Shashank Garg said that FIR was registered against them under Sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 120-B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and investigations are underway.

Bhopal District Court on Wednesday while hearing a petition on Vyapam scam case had ordered to file FIRs against Congress leaders. The court had also asked Shyamla Hills police to submit a detailed report before the court on November 13.

Earlier, on September 19, Digvijay Singh had filed a petition in special CBI court of Justice Suresh Singh against Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, ex-CM Uma Bharti and some senior police officials, handing over a hard disc and documents of 27,000 pages alleging tampering of an excel sheet and claiming original hard disc related to Vyapam case submitted in the court for the first time.

After this, BJP Legal Cell had filed a counter-petition against the Congress leaders and whistleblower Pandey alleging that they had presented fake documents and wrong facts in the court and tried to mislead the investigation agency.
uThe Legal Cell said that they had tried to get a case registered in Shyamla Hills police station, but as no action was taken, the petition was being filed.
