congratulated entire Tourism Department and related
departments and institutions on this huge achievement

MADHYA Pradesh Tourism won 10 National Awards for second consecutive year. Madhya Pradesh Tourism has bagged 10 awards in National Awards ceremony announced in New Delhi by Ministry of Tourism. Apart from this, the National Award for Best Tourism State, the Hall of Fame is also effective for the second year. This award will be effective for three consecutive years.


The award was given during World Tourism Day celebrations in New Delhi. The event was organised at Vigyan Bhawan. Awards were presented by Union Minister of Tourism K J Alphons. Surendra Patwa, Minister of Tourism and Culture of Madhya Pradesh, Tapan Bhowmick, Chairperson MPTDC, Hari Ranjan Rao, MD of Tourism and Tourism Board, Additional Managing Director of Tourism Illaiya Raja and others were present.


Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed happiness over significant achievement of the Tourism Department. Congratulating the entire Tourism Department and related departments and institutions on this achievement, Chouhan expected them to work further with the same team spirit and maintain the pride.


It is worth mentioning that Madhya Pradesh has been awarded for excellence in publishing in foreign language other than English category where brochure in Germany was selected. Best Heritage Walk Award was given to Indore city and Best Heritage City was given to Mandu. Best Adventure State Award was shared by Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Coffee Table Book Kanha Tiger Reserve was also awarded under Swachhta category, Best Civic Management was given to Omkareshwar, Best Wildlife Guide was given to Panna National Park guide Rashiq Prasad, Best Heritage Property was given to Devbagh, Gwalior.


Best Airport Award was given to Devi Ahiliya Bai Holkar Airport in Indore. It has to be mentioned that the busiest airport of Madhya Pradesh Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Airport is predominantly connected to Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Raipur, Nagpur and Goa and other major cities.


This airport hosts domestic and international flights and cargo facility. The state-of-the-art integrated terminal building of the DABH airport is set in a sprawling 18,000 sqm area. Its world class facilities and services include spacious lounges, 16 check in counters, self check in kiosks, baggage trolleys, restaurant, snack bar, VIP/CIP lounges, superb city connectivity, repaid taxis, child acre room, Braille signage’s, Divyang Track, Solar Plant, traditionally painted interior, free Wifi and tourism information centre etc.


Terming the achievement of the State as a matter of pride, Chief Minister Chouhan, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Tourism and Culture Surendra Patwa and Chairman of Tourism Board Tapan Bhoumik expressed happiness.


Congratulating the entire tourism team, department and institutes concerned on prestigious the achievement, they hoped the team will continue work with the same spirit and bring more laurels to the State.
